Online Beginner, Lower Intermediate and Intermediate Irish Language Classes Resume for Winter 2018

The Irish Gaelic Circle of CT will resume 3 ONLINE Irish language classes at the Beginner, Lower Intermediate and Intermediate levels this Winter. New students are welcome!
The Beginner and Lower Intermediate classes will resume on Sat., Jan 6th at 9 and 11 AM EST, respectively, for an 8 week term. These 2 classes can be attended in person in Danbury CT USA.
The Intermediate class will resume on Tues. Jan. 9th at 8 PM EST for a 10 week term.

Online Beginner, Lower Intermediate and Intermediate Irish Language Courses #IrishOnlineClass #IrishGaelicCircle

Courses
Beginners class suitable for students with no knowledge of Irish.  Students in the greater Danbury, CT area may attend class in person.
Lower Intermediate class for students with approximately one year of Irish.
Intermediate class for students with two or more years of Irish.

Fall Term
10 weeks

Meeting Times
Beginners: Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM EST for 75 minutes.
Lower Intermediate: Saturday mornings at 11:00 AM EST for 90 minutes.
Intermediate: Tuesday evenings at 8:00 PM EST for 75 minutes.

Start Dates
Beginners and Lower Intermediate - Sept 23rd.
Intermediate - Sept 26th.

Connection
Students will receive a link to connect to the class.  No software to download.  Connection can be made from any device (laptop, iPhone, iPad. etc).  Webcam and headset recommended for quality sound.

Cost
Beginners and Intermediate: $150 / term
Lower Intermediate: $180 / term

Classes
Classes are a mixture of conversation, reading, writing and grammar.  Classes are friendly and light to encourage conversation and are run as video teleconferences where everyone can see and hear each other.

Introduction to Irish Language I Online Course - Fairfield University



Be part of the IRISH LANGUAGE RENAISSANCE! Register for a course at Fairfield University.

The heart and soul of any people is in their language and key to understanding their history and way of thinking.

Students will learn the basics of Irish language pronunciation, syntax and grammar as it applies to everyday conversation as well as some history and culture.  10 week session meeting on Mon/Wed evenings from 6:30 - 7:45 PM EST starting on Monday, Sept. 11.

Mass at Fairfield University for St. Patrick with Irish Gaelic

Friday, March 10 Mass Celebrating Irish Faith and Culture

Because the Feast of St. Patrick falls during spring break, we will acknowledge him on Friday, March 10th, during the Lenten Weekday Mass at 12:10 PM in the Egan Chapel. The liturgy will include several readings and prayers in Irish Gaelic. The Mass is open to everyone and all members of the community are invited to attend this celebration of Irish faith and culture in honor of St. Patrick the patron saint of Ireland. The Mass and the reception following is being hosted by the Irish Studies Program here at Fairfield University.

Online Irish Language Class at Fairfield University



The online course 'Introduction to Irish Language II" will be offered again this Spring by Fairfield University for lifelong learners (Certificate) and undergrads (credit) in the Irish Studies Program. The class will begin on Feb. 6th for a ten week term and meeting on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 7:45 PM ET. The class is suitable for those who have learned some Irish already with instructor approval. Students will continue to the learn the basics of pronunciation, syntax and grammar as it applies to everyday conversation as well as some history and culture.
