The Irish Gaelic Circle of Connecticut - Irish Language Day - Lá na Gaeilge - April 13, 2019

The Circle will offer an Irish language program at the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels in a full day event.  All are invited to attend this day from those with no Irish to native speakers.  Come and be with us if you are curious about the language, want to improve or use your Irish or to help learners develop their skills.  The informal tone of the day provides a great way to meet other learners and Irish speakers who come from a wide variety of backgrounds.  People who share your love and excitement for Irish culture and want to help others who want to learn Irish.
The Lá will be held again at the Parish Center of St Marguerite Bourgeoys in Brookfield, CT.  There will be three classes throughout the day with two lectures and workshops related to Irish culture.  Three fluent and gifted language teachers will be teaching the classes: Caoimhe Ní Giollarnaith, native of Co. Kildare (BA and MA in Irish, Irish Lit. & Film: National U. of Galway.  Currently teaches at Lehman College and The Irish Arts Ctr in Manhattan),Seoirsín Ní Mheachair (Teaches at Two Rivers Gaelic League-Conradh na Gaeilge in Albany, NY) and Fulbright Scholar Jill McMahon, native of Co. Clare (BA in Irish & Journalism: Dublin City U. Currently teaches as an FLTA at Elms College, Chicopee, MA) .  Students will have a choice of two lectures.  One in Irish and the other in Irish/English.

There will be an Irish Language Book shop open as well as workshops in Amhránaíocht / Singing and Feadóg Stáin / tin whistle (Key of D).
