Winter 2023 Irish Language Classes at The Irish Gaelic Circle - 4 levels

 


The Irish Gaelic Circle has been teaching Irish for over 20 years now and will offer four classes for an 8 or 10-week term (depending upon the class as noted) during the Winter.  All classes meet weekly.  Classes are online.  Students will learn how to read, write, and speak Irish in a friendly enjoyable atmosphere.  Irish culture, traditions and history as pertains to the language will also be presented. Our students do well on the Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) exams.

New students at all levels are welcome to attend.


 Beginners Class: Starts on Monday, Jan 9th.  This class is for first year learners who have a limited knowledge of Irish. Students are learning the elements of Irish grammar, vocabulary and syntax.  Online.  10-week term.  Cost: $165 plus books.  Class is team-taught along with the Shenandoah Gaeltacht.


Advanced Beginners Class: Starts on Sat., Jan 7th at 10:45 AM. This class is for first time learners who have a limited knowledge of Irish. Students are learning the elements of Irish grammar, vocabulary and syntax.  Online.  8-week term.  Cost: $135 plus books.

 

Second Year Lower Intermediate Class: Starts on Sat., Jan 7th at 8:45 AM. Suitable for students who have studied Irish for at least a year.  Includes some conversation and reading stories in Irish about Irish mythology and history.  Online.  8-week term.  Cost: $135 plus books.

 

Intermediate Class: Starts on Tues, Jan. 10th at 7:45 PM. Suitable for students who have been learning Irish for several years and includes conversation as Gaeilge as well. 10-week term.  Cost: $165.

 

Times are ET. Classes run for an hour and 15 minutes approximately.

 

No software needed for online (Zoom). Works on all devices.

Please join us for our annual Lá Gaeilge, a great opportunity to use and improve your Irish language skills, whether “cúpla focal” or “cainteoir líofa.” The event will include:

·         Ogham art display & scholarship book sale

·         Comhra & craic!

The Irish Gaelic Circle has been teaching Irish for over 20 years now and will offer four classes for a 10-week term during the Fall.  Classes are online. Beginners Class: Starts on Mon., Sept 13th at 6 to 7 PM (actual start time will be decided with students).  This is for students with little to no Irish study.  (Team taught with the Shenandoah Gaeltacht)

Advanced Beginners Class: Starts on Sat., Sept. 17th at 10:45 AM. This class is for learners with one year of study or equivalent.  

Lower Intermediate Class: Starts on Sat., Sept. 17th at 8:45 AM. Suitable for students who have studied Irish for at least two years or equivalent. 

Intermediate Class: Starts on Tues, Sept. 13th at 7:45 PM. Suitable for students who have been learning Irish for several years and includes conversation as Gaeilge as well.

Beginners Class: Starts on Monday., Sept. 19th at around 6-7 PM ET depending on the needs of the students. This class is for first time learners with no study of Irish or those who have a very limited knowledge of Irish.  

Classes run for an hour and 15 minutes approximately.  No software needed for online (Zoom). You can attend from wherever you live.  Works on all devices. 

Cost for term is $165 plus any books as needed.

Irish Language Immersion Week Starts August 28th - Daltaí na Gaeilge

 


Daltaí na Gaeilge will hold its' week-long Irish Language Immersion Program from Sunday evening, August 28th through Saturday noon, September 3rd, 2022 in Esopus, New York. Daltaí has been holding these immersion weeks for over 30 years.
Classes will be offered for all levels of ability, as usual. From beginners to fluent speakers.
