Conference: The Twenty Year Plan for the Irish Language in North America

An Fiche Bliain atá Romhainn: Taighde agus Teagasc na Gaeilge i Meiriceá Thuaidh.
(The Twenty Years Ahead: Research and Teaching of the Irish Language in North America)

I was invited to this conference (The Institute of Bilingualism) in Ottawa, Canada last October to present a paper on the cultural activities of the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center (GDICC) in CT, in general, and, in particular, for teaching the Irish Language.  My presentation included the activities of the GDICC and the activities of other Irish organizations and universities in CT.  The presentations were all in Irish and the link is the video to the afternoon session where the presentation was made.  My talk runs in the segment from 18 to 32 minutes.  The conference included presentations by universities and local Irish organizations with Irish language programs.  The intent of the conference was to assess the current situation and to plan for the future.
