Beginner's Irish Language Class with The Irish Gaelic Circle-Summer 2024

 


A Beginner's Class on Monday evenings (6:30 PM, flexible) on Zoom that will meet for 5 weeks starting on July 22nd through August 19th on Zoom.  The class would continue for another term of about 10 weeks starting in September.

Classes will run for approximately 75 minutes.  The primary goal is to learn to read, write and speak Irish in a structured manner.  We will also cover culture, traditions, songs and history as well in a friendly atmosphere with like-minded students.  

This 5-week term will cost $90.

Summer 2023-Beginner's Irish Language Classes at the Irish Gaelic Circle

 


The Irish Gaelic Circle has been teaching Irish for over 20 years now and will offer a Beginner's Class for a 6-week term during the Summer.  All classes meet weekly.  Classes are online.  Students will learn the basics of how to read, write, and speak Irish in a friendly enjoyable atmosphere.  Irish culture, traditions and history as pertains to the language will also be presented. 

 Beginners Class: Starts on Saturday, June 24th at 10:45 AM ET.  This class is for first year learners who have no Irish or a limited knowledge of Irish. Students are learning the elements of Irish grammar, vocabulary, and syntax.  Online.  6-week term.  Cost: $120 plus books.  

Times are ET. Classes run for an hour and 15 minutes approximately. 

No software needed for online (Zoom). Works on all devices.

Please join us for our annual Lá Gaeilge, a great opportunity to use and improve your Irish language skills, whether “cúpla focal” or “cainteoir líofa.” The event will include:

·         Workshops/lectures

·         Ogham art display & scholarship book sale

·         Comhra & craic!

Fall 2020 Irish Language Classes

 


Fall 2020 Irish Language Classes at the

Irish Gaelic Circle of Connecticut

 

The Irish Gaelic Circle has been teaching Irish for over 20 years now and will offer three classes for a 10-week term during the Fall.  All Classes are online in a video teleconference style so that all students can see and talk with each other.  Students will learn how to read, write and speak Irish in a friendly enjoyable atmosphere.  Irish culture, traditions and history as pertains to the language will also be presented. 

 

Beginners Class: Starts on Sat., Sept. 12th at 10:45 AM. This class is for first time learners with no study of Irish or those who have a very limited knowledge of Irish.

 

Second Year Beginners Class: Starts on Sat., Sept. 12th at 9:00 AM. Suitable for students who have studied Irish for at least a year.

 

Intermediate Class: Starts on Tues, Sept. 15th at 7:45 PM. Suitable for students who have been learning Irish for several years and includes conversation as Gaeilge as well.

 

Times are ET. Classes run for an hour and 15 minutes approximately.

 

No software needed for online (Zoom). Works on all devices.

 

Cost for term is $150 plus any books as needed.

Introduction to Irish Language I Online Course - Fairfield University Fall 2019



Be part of the IRISH LANGUAGE RENAISSANCE! Register for a course at Fairfield University.

The heart and soul of any people is in their language and key to understanding their history and way of thinking.

Students will learn the basics of Irish language pronunciation, syntax and grammar as it applies to everyday conversation as well as some history and culture.  10 week session meeting on Mon/Wed evenings from 6:30 - 7:45 PM EST starting on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Certificate upon successful completion.

Summer 2018 Irish Language Classes - Online Beginners, Advanced Beginners and Intermediate Levels Levels


The Irish Gaelic Circle will offer three classes for a 6 week term over the summer.  Come join us!

Beginners Class:  Starts on Saturday, July 14th at 10:30 AM.  Class may be attended online or in person at the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center (GDICC) located in Danbury, CT USA.
