Fall Irish Language Courses at The Irish Gaelic Circle 2026

  

 The Irish Gaelic Circle has been teaching Irish for over 25 years now and will offer three classes for the Fall term.  All classes meet weekly.  Classes are online or in-person as noted Students will learn how to read, write, and speak Irish in a friendly enjoyable atmosphere.  Irish culture, traditions, songs, and history as pertains to the language will also be presented. Our students who decide to take the Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) exams have consistently done well on those exams.

New students at all levels are welcome to attend.

 Beginners Class: Will start the week of Sept 21st.  This class is for first time learners.  Students will be learning the elements of Irish grammar, vocabulary, and syntax.  Class will meet online for 1 hour.  10-week term.  Cost: $180 plus books. 

Advanced Beginners Class (In-Person): Starts on Monday, Sept 21st at 7:30 PM. Suitable for students who have some Irish study. Additional study of grammar, reading and some conversation.  The class will meet in the Parish Hall of St. Peter Church, Main St, Danbury, CT. In-person for 75 minutes during the 10-week term.   Cost: $190 plus books. 

Intermediate Class: Starts on Tues, Sept 22nd at 7:30 PM. Suitable for students who have been learning Irish for a few years and includes conversation and reading stories about history and current events as well. Online for an 10-week term.  Cost: $190. 

Times are ET. Classes run for an hour and 15 minutes approximately. No software needed for online (Zoom). Works on all devices.   

Private classes can also be arranged.

New classes can be arranged as the need arises as well.

John Feeney is the teacher who has been holding classes as the Irish Gaelic Circle for over 20 years.  He has taught Irish at Housatonic Community College and Fairfield University in CT for several years as well as various events with Daltaí na Gaeilge.

Daltaí na Gaeilge's May Irish Language Weekend - May 19-21, 2023

 

Daltaí na Gaeilge's May Irish Language Weekend (May 19-21) is coming up in Esopus, NY. There is still time to register! Enjoy Irish language classes from beginners to fluent with a friendly group of people who share your interest in our Irish heritage. Classes for Tin whistle, Irish dancing, Irish songs. lectures, seisiún and céilí.

Families are welcome! Come for the day or for the weekend. The most Irish you will hear on this side of the Atlantic!!

Please join us for our annual Lá Gaeilge, a great opportunity to use and improve your Irish language skills, whether “cúpla focal” or “cainteoir líofa.” The event will include:

Online Spring 2021 Irish Language Classes at the Irish Gaelic Circle

 

The Irish Gaelic Circle has been teaching Irish for over 20 years now and will offer three classes for an 8–10 week term during the Spring.  All Classes are online in a video teleconference style so that all students can see and talk with each other.  

Students will learn how to read, write, and speak Irish in a friendly enjoyable atmosphere with other students who are also excited about their heritage.  Irish culture, traditions and history as pertains to the language will also be presented.  

Continuing Beginners Class: Starts on Sat., April 10^th at 10:45 AM. This class is for learners who have a limited knowledge of Irish.  8 Week term. Online. 

Second Year Beginners Class: Starts on Sat., April 10^th at 8:30 AM. Suitable for students who have studied Irish for at least a year.  Includes conversation.  8 Week term.  Online. 

Intermediate Class: Starts on Tues., April 6^th at 7:30 PM. Suitable for students who have been learning Irish for several years and includes conversation as Gaeilge as well. 10 Week term.  Online. 

Times are ET. Classes run for an hour and 15 minutes approximately. 

No software needed for online (Zoom). Works on all devices. 

Cost for terms are $120 / 8 week and $150 / 10 week plus any books as needed.

Beginners Class: Starts on Sat., Sept. 12^th at 10:45 AM. This class is for first time learners with no study of Irish or those who have a very limited knowledge of Irish.

 

Second Year Beginners Class: Starts on Sat., Sept. 12^th at 9:00 AM. Suitable for students who have studied Irish for at least a year.

 

Intermediate Class: Starts on Tues, Sept. 15^th at 7:45 PM. Suitable for students who have been learning Irish for several years and includes conversation as Gaeilge as well.

Online Summer 2019 Irish Language Classes at the Irish Gaelic Circle of CT - Online or In Person

The Irish Gaelic Circle will offer three classes for 6 to 8-week terms during the Summer.  Come join us!  Classes are online or in person.

Beginners Class:  Starts on Saturday, June 29 at 10:45 AM.  Class may be attended online or in person at the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center (GDICC) located in Danbury, CT USA.  6 week term.

Second Year Beginners Class: Continues on Sat., June 29 at 8:30 AM.  Class may be attended online or in person at the GDICC.  6 week term.  

Intermediate Class: Continues on Tues, July 2nd at 7:45PM.  Class is online only.  8 week term.

Times are EST.  Classes run for an hour and 15 minutes approximately. 

No software needed for online.  Works on all devices. 

Cost for 8 week term is $120 plus any books as needed.  Cost for 6 week term is $90.

Students who have taken the Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) test have passed the A1 exam.
