Fall Irish Language Courses at The Irish Gaelic Circle 2026

  

 The Irish Gaelic Circle has been teaching Irish for over 25 years now and will offer three classes for the Fall term.  All classes meet weekly.  Classes are online or in-person as noted Students will learn how to read, write, and speak Irish in a friendly enjoyable atmosphere.  Irish culture, traditions, songs, and history as pertains to the language will also be presented. Our students who decide to take the Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) exams have consistently done well on those exams.

New students at all levels are welcome to attend.

 Beginners Class: Will start the week of Sept 21st.  This class is for first time learners.  Students will be learning the elements of Irish grammar, vocabulary, and syntax.  Class will meet online for 1 hour.  10-week term.  Cost: $180 plus books. 

Advanced Beginners Class (In-Person): Starts on Monday, Sept 21st at 7:30 PM. Suitable for students who have some Irish study. Additional study of grammar, reading and some conversation.  The class will meet in the Parish Hall of St. Peter Church, Main St, Danbury, CT. In-person for 75 minutes during the 10-week term.   Cost: $190 plus books. 

Intermediate Class: Starts on Tues, Sept 22nd at 7:30 PM. Suitable for students who have been learning Irish for a few years and includes conversation and reading stories about history and current events as well. Online for an 10-week term.  Cost: $190. 

Times are ET. Classes run for an hour and 15 minutes approximately. No software needed for online (Zoom). Works on all devices.   

Private classes can also be arranged.

New classes can be arranged as the need arises as well.

Introduction to Irish Language I - Fall 2020 -Online at Fairfield University

The heart and soul of any people is in their language, which is key to understanding their history and way of thinking.

This fall, Fairfield University is offering “Introduction to Irish Language I” a 12-week course open to both undergraduate students for three credit hours* within the Irish Studies minor (director approval needed), and to lifelong learners as a certificate.  The course is online. 

Students will learn the basics of Irish language pronunciation, syntax, and grammar as it applies to everyday conversation, as well as insight into Irish history and culture.

Students in the Introduction to Irish Language I class at Fairfield University completed the course last week. The online class was attended by students from various locations in Canada and the US.
